N.W. Poole started the company with his brother in 1947 and it remains a family owned operation. In 1997, the Letchworth family purchased the company from Mr. Poole and has expanded the business, continuing a reputation of excellence. About twenty years after that transfer of ownership to the Letchworth family, the second generation of Letchworth’s purchased the company and continue to offer customers the same level of quality and service. People who contact our office often like to share how their parents or grandparents used N.W. Poole Well Co. to drill their well years ago and it is humbling when they continue to trust us generations later.
From the beginning, N.W. Poole Well & Pump Co. has specialized in water well drilling and pump installation, but in the last twenty years we have become well known in the industry for our knowledge of water treatment. We pride ourselves on helping individuals and companies in the community to have a quality of water that is both healthy and satisfactory for their everyday needs. We realize what a precious commodity clean water is and we do all we can to provide that to our customers at a reasonable price.
We serve companies and individuals all across the state of North Carolina in a residential and commercial capacity. Our company constantly strives to keep abreast of water related issues, both locally and globally. Not long after the second generation took ownership, the owners made a commitment to give back to the community. We are proud to be sponsors for local ball teams, supporters of local schools and donors to ministries locally and globally, including Haiti and Kenya. In early 2017, our company sponsored a well and pump installation in Kenya, Africa which provides clean water to hundreds of members of the community. We are proud that a well in Kenya now bears the name of N.W. Poole. The people of that area are now using that well water to plant and grow crops which will help sustain their families for generations.
We are very fortunate that we can embrace our past and honor the ideals established by Mr. N.W. Poole back in the 1940’s, while soaring into the 21st century with new technological advancements, all to benefit our customers.
