Safe.  Transparent.  Active.  Green.  Engaged.  These five words, known as S.T.A.G.E., represent the vision of Knightdale's leaders.  The inclusion of the words 'active' and 'green' exemplify just how enthusiastic and committed the Town and its citizens are to great parks, active sports programs, and recreational opportunities for all ages.  Check out some of the annual events and programs by visiting the Knightdale Parks & Recreation website for detailed information about all of Knightdale's park facilities and recreation programs.

  • Outstanding Facilities,
    Quality Programs

  • The Knightdale Parks & Recreation Department has an active program providing both recreation and athletic programs for youth ages 4-17 and adults.  Youth athletic programs include basketball, baseball, pre-ball, tee ball, and softball.  Adult athletic programs include basketball, kickball, co-ed softball, and men's league softball.

Recreation programs include: Cheerleading, Self-Defense, Hip Hop, Pottery, Senior Movies, Day and Overnight Trips, Parents Night Out, Summer Camp, Track Out Camp, Music & Movement, Dances, Aerobics Classes, and Yoga.  Special events include Movie Nite, Drive-In Movie, Arts & Crafts Fair, Health Fair, Easter Egg Hunt, Father Daughter Dance, Tree Lighting, and Christmas Parade.

The Knightdale Pool is open to the public during the summer for swimming and swim lessons.  The pool is available for retntal during the summer after closing time.  The clubhouse is available for rentals throughout the year.

Knightdale Envrionmental Education Park is located behind Knightdale Town Hall on Steeple Square Court.  The park offers a one-third-mile walking trail, picnic shelters, four environmental sculptures, and two observation overlooks.  The park can be accessed by parking on the side lot of Knightdale Town Hall or by parking at the rear of the East Regional Library parking lot.

Harper Park located on Main Street features five picnic areas with grills, two of which are covered, a gazebo, and a children's play area.

A new central Town Park is being built on North First Avenue in Knightdale.  The park will include walking trails, playground, ball fields, picnic shelters, farmer's market, community garden, dog park, and amplitheatre.  The YMCA facility will be located on this site.

A planned pedestrian bridge over the Neuse River will connect Knightdale's greenway to  three-mile stretch of Raleigh's greenway.  Within three to four years, this hiking and biking trail will be an integral part of the 28-mile Neuse River Greenway, running from Falls Lake Dam to the Wake-Johnson County line.  This link will also tie Knightdale into Raleigh's overall system, which now has 66 miles of trails--another venue for visitors to Knightdale, especially cyclists and runners.
